We are excited to announce that for the third year McMichael Music Rock Clinic bands will be performing at the Norman Music Festival on the Prairie Wind Family Stage! More information coming soon! _____________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________________ The McMichael School of Music is Norman's largest and longest established private teaching facility. McMichael Music offers a full complement of faculty artists and scholars providing instruction in contemporary and traditional instrumental and voice, music education and theory. The faculty is active performers, composers, producers, and authors. The Norman community has the pleasure of enjoying McMichael Music instructors in many of its favorite local bands. Mike Hosty, Al Orebaugh, Tom Young and Terry Ware are among the seasoned talents that share their knowledge and experience through private instruction. Many members of the faculty have received awards for teaching and creative activity and have been or are currently involved in national or international touring acts. We are also extremely proud to share several of our excellent instructors with other institutions of music education, including UCO's Academy of Contemporary Music. All students are encouraged to perform at quarterly recitals and other student showcases, and Rock Clinic bands are offered extensive performance opportunities. McMichael Music Rock Clinic bands play annually at local events such as the Midsummer Night's Fair, the Norman Arts Markets, and the Norman Music Festival. Faculty and student groups are featured on a variety of recordings, further enhancing the school's reputation for scholarly and performing excellence. Providing lessons in: Guitar, Piano, Bass, Mandolin, Harmonica, Woodwinds, Strings, Saxophone, Slide Guitar, Percussion, and Voice.
